10/26/15
-In the last game of the season the Welch Middle School teams came in ready to compete! The 7th grade team fought hard, but fell to the tough Pershing team. The girls improved so much throughout the season! The girls successfully mastered getting a controlled 3 hits over the net with great passes from A'dream Shakur and Kyla Singelton, great sets from Donye Mims, and athleticism from Jatisha Laws. Continue to work hard in the off season 7th grade and best of luck as many join respective club teams for the first time ever this winter. They finished their season with a 2-5 record in district and 2-9 overall. Shout out to Coach Washington as she helped her team this season in her first season as a Volleyball Coach!
-The 8th grade team had an amazing last game to close out our season! After losing the first set 22-25, the Wolf Pack was not ready to lose their last game of the best volleyball season in school history. The girls fought hard and focused and were able to take the Lady Pandas in 3 sets in the most exciting game yet! Coach Cordova would like to thank each one of his 8th graders for an eventful two years being their coach and History teacher! Best of luck to Armyni Perales, Jalisa Lucas, and Jinaye Pittman as they compete with Southside Storm Volleyball Club and Yasmine Darden with Southwest Heat for this club season. Overall the girls finished 3rd in district with a 5-2 record, and had a 13-3 record overall! Great job and thank you for the memories!

-In our last home game of the season the 7th Grade Wolf Pack Pups fought hard but fell in 3 sets to The Rice School. They have shown a lot of improvement from the start of the season and are making us proud each and every day. The 8th grade team looked for a bit of revenge and that is exactly what happened as they took down their opponent 25-22 and 25-13! Both teams look to end their season on a high note as we travel to Pershing MS to end a great 2015 Volleyball Season!
10/12/15
-Both Wolf Pack teams picked up great wins at West Briar! The 7th grade team was able to take home an exciting 3 set victory! Each set was close, but overall the Wolf Pack Pups were able to serve tough and score a lot of point off of aces! The 8th grade team continued with the strong showing by taking down their opponent 25-18 and 25-13! Armyni Perales had great hits as Yasmin Darden did a great job of setting her up! from great passes from Jalisa Lucas! The Wolf Pack is now 3-2 in district play and 10-3 overall! We look to continue this momentum at our last home game against Rice!

-The Wolf Pack teams came up short once again to a very tough Lanier MS team,in one of the most exciting nights yet. We had the best home crowd as we hosted our annual Dig Pink night! We appreciate everyones support and cheering us on at home! Next up, we look to rebound against West Briar MS!

-The Welch Volleyball team came up short against Pin Oak MS. The Wolf Pack teams fought harder in both the second sets, but was unable to overcome the POMS tough serving.
9/26/15
-Congratulations to the 8th Grade Welch Wolf Pack Volleyball Team as they picked up 1st place in their division at the annual Bellaire HS Volleyball tournament! It was a great showing for all as the girls competed all day long against great competition! All of the girls shined and we all enjoyed a nice team dinner at Chilis to celebrate the long hard day!
Shout outs include:
.Armyni Perales-Had great serves, blocks, and hits to propel her to earn a spot on the all tournament team!
.Yasmin Darden-Had 7 serves in a row to fight off set point 7 times in the championship match and lead us to a decisive 26-24 victory!
.Jalisa Luca-Provided great sets all day long and provided instrumental leadership all day long!
This is the first time that the Wolf Pack has claimed first place in any outside tournament! It was a great memorable day for all! A special thank you to the Bellaire HS staff for putting on a great tournament!

*Please arrive at FAST 15400 Hempstead Rd at 7:15 am (Approximately 23 mins from Welch when taking the Beltway).
*Be prepared to pay an admission fee (girls get in free).
*Be prepared to take a lunch break in between games (we have parents already bringing snacks).
*Be prepared to stay for a rather long day (if we continue winning, the last match is scheduled for 4:00 pm).
*Be sure the girls bring their jerseys, spandex, socks, and knee pads to the tournament and a change of fresh clothes for after the tournament!
*As always, thank you so much for everything that you do for us coaches, Welch MS, and most importantly your daughter!

-Congratulations to both the 8th and 7th Grade Welch Wolf Pack teams as they picked up wins at Dowling MS! The 7th grade team won with a scores of 25-20 and 25-22! Shout outs to Kyla Singelton who served 13 straight serves and Donye Mims who got the game winning ace to close the deal! Way to stay focused and preserve 7th Grade! The 8th grade team continued the Welch Win by closing out Dowling with scores of 25-18 and 25-13! Shout outs to our Libero Micheala Nicholson who had 6 straight serves with all being aces, and our Setter Yasmin Darden who hustled across court to bring a ball back into play which allowed Armyni Peralas to send the ball over for a great point!
-We want to give a special thanks to all of our amazing parents and family members who supported us! We had an amazing crowd on our first away game of the season! We feed off of your energy and it was definitely conducive to our victory!

Shout outs to Armyni Perales as she put a ball down at the 10 ft line, Jinaye Pittman had some great blocks at the net, and Jalisa Lucas has an amazing ace serve to give us the win in the second set! Keep it up girls! Coach Cordova is very proud and excited for this season! The 7th grade team fought hard but eventually fell to the tough Johnston team 19-25 and 16-25.

Parent Meeting
-A parent meeting will be held Thursday, August 27th in the school library at 4:30 pm for all athletes who are wanting to try out!
-The purpose of the meeting is to be in compliance with all paperwork and fill them out whole group.
-Please bring 35$ in cash to have HISD insurance or a notarized Athletic Waiver form if you have insurance for your athlete.
-Athletes must have all paperwork in file with Coach Cordova before tryouts (Monday August 31st at 4:10 pm).
-Physicals will be given on campus Saturday August 29th from 9 am-10:30 am for 15$
